A royal visit: Prince Edward at Café de l’Union

Royal visit: Prince Edward at Café Union

The Café de l’Union team alongside His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, in front of the restaurant.

Some guests are a pleasure to welcome… and others leave a memory that stays with you. Recently, we had the honour of welcoming His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by his team, to Café de l’Union in Crans-près-Céligny.

It was a special moment for our entire team, and quite an exceptional experience to count a member of the British Royal Family among our guests in our small dining room in the heart of the village.

The same café, the same simplicity

Above all, we were delighted to introduce Prince Edward to our cuisine and our restaurant with the same care and simplicity we offer every guest: seasonal food, entirely homemade and served with a smile, whether you are a village regular or visiting the Nyon region.

Another memorable line in our story

Family-run since 1903, Café de l’Union has welcomed generations of guests. That day will remain a wonderful encounter, a fond memory, and one more small line in the story of the café.
